Conditions We Treat
Severe Cases
These emergencies are life-threatening and typically require inpatient admission for immediate monitoring and treatment. Prompt evaluation is critical to prevent serious complications or death.
Chest Pain
Chest pain can range from muscle strain to life-threatening conditions like a heart attack. Because causes vary and heart-related risks are serious, any unexplained chest pain should be treated as an emergency and evaluated by a medical professional immediately.
Shortness of Breath
Shortness of breath can result from mild causes like anxiety or exertion to serious, life-threatening conditions affecting the heart or lungs. Sudden, severe, or worsening breathing difficulty should be treated as an emergency and requires immediate medical evaluation.
Blood Clots
Blood clots may form in veins or arteries and cause serious complications depending on their location. Conditions such as deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism are life-threatening and require urgent medical attention for timely diagnosis and treatment.
Allergic Reactions
Allergic reactions range from mild symptoms to severe, life-threatening anaphylaxis. Signs such as swelling, difficulty breathing, or sudden weakness indicate a medical emergency and require immediate evaluation and treatment to prevent serious complications.
Heat Strokes
Heat stroke is a life-threatening medical emergency caused by prolonged heat exposure and dehydration. It occurs when the body can no longer regulate its temperature and requires immediate treatment to prevent organ damage or death.
Serious Infections
Serious infections can progress rapidly and become life-threatening if not treated promptly. Warning signs such as high fever, sepsis symptoms, or spreading redness may indicate an emergency that requires immediate medical evaluation and care.
Pneumonia
Pneumonia is a lung infection that causes inflammation and fluid buildup in the air sacs, making breathing difficult. While some cases are mild, pneumonia can become severe or life-threatening and may require urgent medical care.

Moderate to Severe Cases
These conditions may require either inpatient care or a short observation period (often under 23 hours), depending on severity, test results, and response to initial treatment. Close monitoring is essential.
Asthma / Wheezing
Asthma can range from mild to severe and may become life-threatening if symptoms worsen. Signs of a severe asthma attack include extreme breathlessness, chest tightness, or little to no relief from a rescue inhaler, requiring immediate medical evaluation.
Fast Heart Rate (Tachycardia)
Tachycardia is a faster-than-normal heart rate that may signal an underlying condition. While causes vary, a persistent or sudden rapid heartbeat, especially with dizziness or chest discomfort, may require urgent medical evaluation.
High Blood Pressure
High blood pressure, often called the “silent killer,” may show no symptoms but can lead to serious complications. Extremely elevated blood pressure or readings accompanied by symptoms such as headache, chest pain, or vision changes may require emergency care.
Abdominal Pain
Severe abdominal pain may indicate infection, inflammation, obstruction, or organ-related conditions. Because causes range from minor issues to serious medical emergencies, persistent or worsening abdominal pain should be evaluated promptly by medical professionals.
Dehydration
Dehydration occurs when the body loses more fluids than it takes in, affecting normal function. While mild cases may improve with fluids, severe dehydration can be life-threatening, especially in children, older adults, and those with chronic illnesses.
Vomiting / Diarrhea
Vomiting and diarrhea are often caused by infections or digestive issues, but can lead to serious dehydration or electrolyte imbalance. Persistent symptoms, severe weakness, or inability to keep fluids down may require urgent medical attention.
Cellulitis
Cellulitis is a bacterial skin infection affecting deeper layers of skin and tissue. It can spread quickly and become serious if untreated. Increasing redness, swelling, fever, or pain may indicate the need for immediate medical evaluation.
Abscesses
An abscess is a localized collection of pus caused by infection. While some abscesses can be treated on an outpatient basis, worsening pain, fever, spreading redness, or drainage may require urgent medical attention.
Acute Arthritis
Acute arthritis involves sudden joint inflammation, pain, and swelling. While many cases are manageable with outpatient care, severe pain, fever, or joint redness may indicate serious conditions such as infection and require immediate medical evaluation.

Mild to Moderate Cases
These conditions are generally less urgent and can often be managed with a short observation or outpatient care. Patients are typically treated and discharged safely with follow-up instructions.
Migraines
Migraines are moderate to severe headaches, often throbbing on one side of the head, and may include nausea, light sensitivity, or visual changes. While usually not dangerous, sudden or severe migraine symptoms can signal a medical emergency and require prompt evaluation.
Fever / Flu
Fever and flu-like symptoms often resolve on their own, but high fever, persistent vomiting, chest pain, or symptoms in infants under 3 months can indicate a serious illness. Severe or worsening symptoms require urgent medical evaluation to prevent complications.
Bronchitis
Bronchitis is inflammation of the bronchial tubes, usually caused by a viral infection. While mild cases resolve on their own, worsening cough, fever, or difficulty breathing may indicate a more serious problem requiring prompt medical evaluation.
